About Roaches
Out of over 4,000 species of cockroaches in the world, 4 are major consequence in New Jersey. Cockroaches carry and cause significant damage to the food supply. Cockroaches habit places were filth is associated such as garbage and sewage and quite often travel to and contaminate adjoining buildings. They may enter an area where food is stored, spreading disease organisms, causing diarrhea, food poisoning, dysentery, and typhoid.

Cockroaches have been associated with the transmission of Salmonella bacteria, a major cause of food poisoning. Researches have even made a connection between cockroaches and asthma and other allergic reactions among people living in infested areas.

Cockroaches are nocturnal (active at night) so that a small infestation may actually occur without observation. There are telltale signs of even a small colony, cockroaches emit an odor in places they visit and leave behind egg cases and excrement, telltale signs of infestation.
