About Skunks
If a skunk population is near to your home or property you well undoubtedly know it. Skunks emit a nauseating musk from the anal glands and have the ability to discharge several times. Although they may travel a distance of up to 4 or 5 miles in a single night, a frequent skunk odor over a period of time is an indication that a skunk lives nearby. They may burrow under pouches and enter structures, dig holes in lawns and gardens to search for insects. Open garbage containers can also be an invitation for the skunk to forage for food. As with any animal that is overly aggressive, skunks can transmit rabies. Care should be taken when encountering a skunk and removal should be handled by a New Jersey exterminator. A Professional should be called when a problem exists.
